Welcome to the City of Kimmswick, Missouri.

Welcome to the official website for the City of Kimmswick.  Here you will find important information about conducting business in the city, participating in our exciting seasonal events, and learning about our vital economic development efforts.  Come and see our historic buildings, dine in our restaurants, and shop in our over 25 specialty stores.  Small business is celebrated here.

As you travel to the City of Kimmswick you are on the Great River Road, one of the most unique scenic byways in the country which runs the length of the Mississippi River.   Within a short drive from us is the Mastodon State Historic Site which contains an important archaeological and paleontological site – the Kimmswick Bone Bed.  The bones of mastodons and other now-extinct animals were first discovered here in the early 1800s.  A few miles to the south on Old Highway M you can find the Sandy Creek Covered Bridge, one of the few remaining covered bridges in Missouri.

Several family-friendly events take place throughout the year in the City of Kimmswick.  Our annual festivals are extraordinary.  Our Strawberry Festival is held the first weekend in June and our Apple Butter Festival is held on the last full weekend in October.  Both festivals draw hundreds of artisan crafters, artists, collectors, specialty food trucks and live musicians who bring their very best offerings every year.  Come and watch the historic apple butter cooking process that is demonstrated by members of the Kimmswick Historical Society.  Visitors come from around the world to enjoy the  charming and historic small town atmosphere of this small Mississippi River City.
